Howard Segreaves 69, of Franklin Twp. NJ died Sunday, June 7, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
Born November 13, 1939 in Stewartsville, NJ he was the son of the late Howard and Rhoda Mae Slack Segreaves.
He and his wife, the former Lois Meyers, were married August 19, 1961. He was a farmer on the family farm in Bloomsbury and during that time he also was a police officer with the former Bloomsbury Police Department. Most recently he was a corrections officer with Mountainview Correctional Center for 23 years, before his retirement. He was a 1958 graduate of North Hunterdon High School.
Howard enjoyed fishing and hunting, square dancing, farming, gardening and his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Bloomsbury Rod and Gun Club.
In addition to his loving wife, Lois, he is survived by three sons, William Howard and his wife, Tina, of Stewartsville, Edward Alan and his wife, Catina, of Nazareth, PA and Steven and his wife, Jennifer, of Warren Glen, NJ; a daughter, Kristine Marie Segreaves and her fiance, David of Philipsburg; a brother, Art and his wife, Pat, of Milford, NJ; two sisters, Virginia Wyant and her husband, Daniel, of Bloomsbury and Mary Lou Kettenburg of Brodheadsville, PA; and nine grandchildren, Emilee A., William, Jr., Christopher Kutzler, Elizabeth A., Mackenzie R., Autumn C., Hunter J. Lewis, Natalee R. and Maggie G.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 695 Corliss Avenue, Phillipsburg, NJ. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Bloomsbury Cemetery.
