Tom & Dawn, My heart grieves for your loss. Our children are such an extension of us, and a part of us is gone with them. Please know you are all, in my thoughts and prayers. He is with our Lord, and know God will comfort you each and every day. I cry for your pain, and pray for your healing.

I am a Professor at Lipscomb and had Matthew in class last fall. I found Matthew to be bright, articulate and engaged in his work. I enjoyed having him in class very much. While I realize words are inadequate during this difficult time, please know our prayers are with the family. He will be missed on our campus.

Dawn, I was so sadden to hear about your loss. Although I never really had the opportunity to meet Matthew just by hearing and reading what a amazing person he was is a blessing. How proud you must be to have raised such a wonderful and beautiful son that has touch so many peoples lives. So many friends and great memories will keep him close to your heart always. You will always have a very special guardian angel. My prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. God Bless You...

Dawn, It seems you've shared all of your good qualities with Matt.Strength,kindness,confidence,itelligence,perserverence. Being of those things while remaining gentle and sweet. Kyle has talked about how Matt taught him how to throw a football and let him join in on pick up football games at the Green st. school park. Peace and love to you and your family.

I met Matt my first day of registration at Lipscomb. I was excited to see another person from NJ and we briefly shared a little bit about ourselves. Matt ended up being in my freshman bible class first semester and we grew to have many of the same friends. Every bible class I would sit with Matt and Andrew Wolf, along with Danny Reddha and August Nelson, other friends of ours. Matt always greeted me with a big "HELLO CALLAN!" and a smile and sometimes we would joke with each other, arguing about if north or south jersey was better. Matt was kind and friendly to everyone, had an infectious smile and was very funny. Andrew always told me how great it was to have Matt as a teammate and a roommate and it was obvious how good they got along and built off each other's humor. Matt would often talk about his girl, Kayla, which was inspiring since I was in a long distance relationship from NJ as well. I'm positive that anyone who ever encountered Matt had nothing but positive things to say. Matt will be dearly missed in the Lipscomb community and as a friend.

The separation when losing a son is a loss that has no words of comfort. That Matt had a desire to draw closer to his Creator (Revelation21:7 'he will be my son')has merit that will result in his receiving future blessings. Revelation 21:3-5
